Connecting Google Business Profile

Wire up your Profile for local ranking and automation.

Connecting Google Business Profile

Your Google Business Profile is the listing that shows up in Google Maps and in the local pack when someone searches for a business like yours nearby. Connecting it to Vibe SEO lets the plugin read that listing's real performance data and act on your local presence. Once it is linked, Vibe can pull how many people saw your listing, how many called, how many clicked through to your website, and how many tapped for directions. It is a one-time setup that takes about a minute.

What this is and why it matters

Search Console tells you how your website performs in Google search. Google Business Profile is the other half of the local picture: the map listing, the phone number, the hours, and the reviews. Connecting it gives Vibe SEO the daily numbers behind that listing so you can see what your local presence is actually doing, not just guess. The connection also opens the door to automation over your listing, including reading your reviews, replying to them, and publishing local posts.

Where it lives

Open the Vibe SEO Settings page in your WordPress admin and scroll to the card titled Google Business Profile. Next to the heading you will see a status pill. Red and reading Disconnected means it is not linked yet. Green and reading Connected means it is set up.

Step by step

When the card shows Disconnected, you will see a short description and a single blue button labeled Connect with Google. Click it. Vibe hands you off to Google's standard sign-in and consent screen. Sign in with the Google account that manages your business listing, then approve the request for Business Profile access. This part matters: if you skip or decline that permission, the connection cannot finish, and you will be told to reconnect and make sure to grant Business Profile access.

After you approve, Google sends you back to the settings page and Vibe stores the link. You will see a success notice confirming the Google account email it connected with. The card now shows a small table with two rows: your Google account and the selected location. At this point the location will read none selected, pick one below.

Now choose your location. Vibe shows two dropdowns side by side. The first is Account, listing the Business Profile accounts your Google login can access. Pick the right one and the second dropdown, Location, loads the listings under that account. Each option shows the business name along with its street address so you can tell multiple locations apart. Select the correct listing, then click Save location. The Save location button stays greyed out until you have actually picked a location, so if it looks disabled, choose a location first.

A confirmation notice tells you the location has been saved. That is it. The card now displays your connected Google account and the chosen location, and the status pill stays green.

What a good result looks like

The Google Business Profile card shows a green Connected pill, your correct Google account email, and a selected location that names your business. If you manage several listings, double check that the one shown is the location you want Vibe to report on. With a location saved, the GBP Performance tool can display your daily impressions, calls, website clicks, and direction requests, and Vibe can work with your listing's reviews and local posts.

Pro tips and common mistakes

Connecting is only half the job. The performance data and automation need a saved location, so do not stop after the green pill appears. Pick a location and save it.

Sign in with the Google account that truly manages the listing. If the account dropdown comes up empty and you see a warning that no accounts were returned, the usual cause is that the Google login you used does not manage any Business Profile listings. Confirm your access by signing in at business.google.com with the same account, then reconnect.

If you ever need to unlink, use the Disconnect button at the bottom of the card. It asks you to confirm, then clears the connection and the saved location. You can reconnect at any time, so disconnecting is safe if you want to switch to a different Google account or a different listing.

One note on approval: Business Profile data comes through Google's own Business Profile APIs. In rare cases a warning will mention that access is still pending Google's approval rather than anything wrong on your end. If you see that, the connection itself is fine, and the data will flow once approval clears.
